The following are considered by locals to be some of the best breakfast places near town!

3 Best Breakfast Places Worth the Early Drive Near Sunset Hills, MO

1. Yolklore

Yolklore on 8958 Watson Road strives to provide its customers with creative breakfast dishes that use premium ingredients. It’s the only restaurant where you can get the Yolklore Smash Burger, a hearty sandwich that fits egg, cheddar cheese, bacon aioli, and a juicy smashed burger between two ciabatta buns. Other unique items include the very clean-tasting Falafel Salad and the Chick Pea Scramble with avocado creme and roasted beets.
If you want more conventional choices, there’s the Classic Breakfast, featuring two scrambled eggs served with a gravy-smothered biscuit, bacon, and potatoes, or you can order pancakes that have been cut to make it easy to dip into syrup. For drinks, the freshly blended smoothies come highly recommended.

2. The Barn

Located on 1015 Sappington Road and fitting in nicely with the other buildings on the grounds of the historic Thomas Sappington House, The Barn certainly stands out from other restaurants with its charming decor and ambiance. When you sample the items on their breakfast menu, you’ll find out that so many of its items are proudly made from scratch with farm-sourced ingredients.
In addition to its perfectly cooked pancakes and French toast, The Barn is known for putting their own twist on the classic eggs Benedict, such as the Ragin’ Cajun, which consists of poached eggs and crawfish cakes sitting on top of toasted English muffins, plus a generous topping of their special Cajun holiday sauce. There’s also its quiche of the day, featuring an ever-changing list of fun, market-fresh ingredients.

3. Russell’s Café & Bakery-Fenton

Russell’s has another restaurant in Macklind, but its Fenton location on 952 Brookwood Center is the original establishment and the closest one to Sunset Hills. During breakfast hours, the restaurant’s main draw is its selection of delicious sandwiches and wraps. The most filling option is the Southwestern Breakfast Wrap, a wheat wrap containing scrambled egg, roasted red peppers, ham, and pepper jack cheese served with salsa and chipotle mayo.
Prefer something sweeter? Try the Grilled French Toast with lemon curd, berries, and seasonal fruits. Before leaving, you’ll be tempted to take home some of their scrumptious cakes, cookies, or bear claws.
